Summer School

Christian Summer School

Summer School began as a ministry of St John’s Lutheran Church Eight Mile Plains in 1982. Traditionally, it is a week long event held in January each year during school holidays. Children from prep to year 10 are involved in a day program consisting of Bible stories, singing, games, craft, chapel time and activities. Many participants have attended multiple times and often return later as leaders to help facilitate the event for the following generation. The EMP Congregation members have also been heavily invested in the logistical running of Summer School, from helping to setup beforehand, to running plant stall and/or bric-a-brac stall to helping in the kitchen for meals. The whole event draws the community together to provide the children with genuine and authentic teaching about Jesus and offer the children a chance to make friends and have fun.
